Mid Oct.

The Hangar Skate Park is a wonderful place. I never imagined the kind of talent that could hide out in warehouses like this one. Skaters and bikers alike come in pay their five bucks and go to work. They finally land their trey-flip(idk how to spell it) or they 3′ the box and i hear the woots and yeahs. I’ve seen some incredible things. Dozens of teens and young adults enter that building each week. I love these people. I love you.

This leads me to allow a momentum shift to take place. A shift inspired by the greatest act of love, sharing Jesus. This shift involves one man emerging as a figure of authority and everyone following him. That person is not Josh Cody or Josh Benfield. That person is Jesus Christ. The problem the world has with Jesus is they don’t believe he exists. The world doesn’t believe he ever existed. We believe Jesus was a real person who was both God and man and that he came to save sinners. When this skate park started that was the focus and the vision and I lost that. I want you to believe in Jesus but I will NOT try to force you to believe he exists. Changes are going to be made to set the hangar skate park aside from other parks. We WILL preach Christ as the only way to heaven and we WILL enforce all rules including helmets, alcohol, smoking, and cursing. I will not waste the opportunity to build a ministry that appeals to skaters and bikers. Key word is MINISTRY.

This is the Hangar Skate Ministry.

Starting November 1st The Hangar will have open sessions on Tuesday 5-9 and Saturday 11-4. Thursday will no longer be an open session but we will return to the free Thursday Session that involves talking about Jesus and fellow shipping as human beings Christians and non-Christians.

This is the New/Old Hangar, we’re going to back to the basics and souls will be won for Christ. I’m sick of seeing the skaters and bikers I love on a one way street leading to Hell. I’m sick of wasting this wonderful God-given opportunity on building up a business. We will continue to maintain the best skate park we can financially but the priority will be to spread the kingdom of heaven not the boundaries of our park.

Thank you all who love the Hangar and appreciate it.

-Josh Cody

I miss the Hangar :(

Unfortunately the Hangar will have to be closed for another week. We were originally supposed to reopen on July 25th but due to some minor set backs we are forced to keep the park closed  until July 2nd. I’m so sorry for inconvenience! Please hang in there and continue to support this local park!

Because of this extended closing our first summer camp will be closed. Look forward to our other summer camp opportunities coming up.

Hangar Summer Camps

Coming up this summer! Get out of the house and work with experienced riders and skaters, hang out with your friends, and eat.

Hangar Demolition Project. Park will be closed for the majority of June.

Pay attention to this post! I don’t want anyone being stuck at the gate because they were unaware of the closing dates. Here is what is going on…

There are two very large platforms in The Hangar. These platforms take up a lot of space and are next to useless to us. We cannot renovate or use these platforms in any way so we have consented that the church have them demolished. A company will be coming into the Hangar on June 13th to begin demolition. We have to prep the Skate Park by moving all the ramps near the platforms out so they can be demolished properly without damagingany of our ramps. This means the park will have to be closed a week before demolition to disassemble and move the ramps away from the platforms. The Hangar will also be closed a week after the demolition to put the park back in order. I’m so sorry for this inconvenience but it is going to greatly improve the park and give us even more space to work with!

We will meeting at the park to work on moving the ramps away within the next week so stay tuned on the website or facebook concerning workdays.

Thank You for taking an interest in the Hangar Skate Park and please try to make it out to the park on the workdays. The official closing dates of the park will be from:      June 5th-June 24th!

The Hangar will close on the 5th and re-open on the 25th!

Also we have a thursday session tonight 5:30-8:30!

Thank you, management

Thursday sessions begin Tonight May 19th!!!

Come hangout from 5:30 – 8:30… Free session awesome fellowship, good times!

Hangar Jam May 14th, 2010- Bring em’ out

This year the Hangar has seen many changes and the skate park is looking 100% better. We promised that we would keep the ball rolling and this is evidence of our forward progression. On Saturday May 14th we will invite everyone in for a fund raiser of sorts. Admission will be 10$ and there will be tons of give aways and prizes. This will be a great way to kick off the summer. Get behind this JAM!  All proceeds will go back into the park and be used for future building projects. If you skate or bike and you love whats going on at the Hangar get behind this. If you are a parent and you are brave enough to allow your children to ride the park we commend you and we would love for you to get behind this. The Jam will start at 1:00pm and we will finish up in time for dinner. Here is what I need from you:

  1. Pray for this event.- We’re not trying to build a park that will contend with all the other great parks in America. We just want a fun place to hangout.
  2. Come and bring friends.-I would be happy to just see your face.
  3.  Bring extra money for raffles and food.-Everything goes back into the park.
  4. Sponsor this event if you are able.- If you know some one who would want tothrow up a banner in the park and/or get a spot on the flyer let us know! We would be more than happy to represent any business that shows us love.

Thanks for reading this post and keeping up with the Hangar Skate Park. God has truly revealed himself and built this park from the ground up.
